Willie Breazell Sr.

Breazell, a 23-year resident of Colorado Springs, is a former U.S. Army intelligence officer who also served in space operations. He retired as a captain in the Army Reserve and has since worked in the private sector as a space systems analyst.

A longtime advocate for educational choice and education reform, he served four years on the Colorado Springs School District 11 Board of Education as well as on the boards of two charter schools. He is a founding member of the national Black Alliance for Educational Options.

He is a past president, vice president and education committee chair in both the Greater Huachuca (Ariz.) Branch and the Colorado Springs Branch of the NAACP. He is a past president of Garden of the Gods Rotary Club.

Breazell currently chairs the committee to establish a Buffalo Solider memorial in Colorado Springs.
